Starting a company with someone is a big commitment. Before you dive in together, you need to know if you're aligned on what to build. FounderFit helps new co-founders objectively evaluate startup ideas, together.
Everyone scores ideas against the same criteria, independently, before seeing what others think. Only after all scores are in do you see the aggregate results.
The backstory
I wanted a simple tool for co-founders to align on ideas before committing. Something that surfaces disagreements early, when they're cheap to resolve, rather than six months into building the wrong thing.
How it works
- Define custom scoring criteria with weighted importance
- Blind scoring: no one sees others' scores until everyone submits
- Dealbreaker flags for must-have criteria
- Aggregate results with clear winner identification
- Team collaboration with invite links
- Telegram bot for quick scoring and idea adding
The surprising insight: teams often discover their "obvious" favorite idea actually scores poorly when evaluated objectively. That's the point.
On the roadmap
FounderFit is just the start. Ideas I'm exploring:
- Founder personality tests: Understand working styles before you commit
- Premortem questions: Think through hard questions in advance (what if we disagree on direction? what if one of us wants out?)
- Chat bot for teams: Lives in your Slack/Telegram, logs decisions, tracks open questions, analyzes communication patterns
- Founder retrospectives: Regular check-ins to surface issues before they fester
